So Maybe I'll Watch the Emmys Now?

So, as usual, I didn't bother with the Emmys, and of course they had to go crazy this year and appear to use merit when giving out the awards. So much for my rant about the Emmy love affair with Boston Legal. I could start a rant about their love for 30 Rock, except that it's fave of mine, too.

OK, I did see a few minutes of the awards during a break in football, and caught the tail end of Josh Groban's theme song medley (which I'll have to YouTube), Laura Linney's speech after she won for John Adams (liked the snarky plug for community organizers at the end), and the Laugh-In bit (which was Rob Lowe sings with Sleeping Beauty levels of awful). I can't say I'm sorry to have not watched the show in its entirety.

Watched it cover to cover, as it were. Ricky Gervais was funny Don Rickles was amusing, given that he was saddled with Kathy Griffin and inane writing. Pretty much every other minute sucked to high heaven. They should stop worrying so much about who's going to host and get some decent writers.
